Barossa Regional Playground at Tolley Reserve Project.

We are very excited by this project.  To date we have raised more than $120,000 of in kind support and the first stage of the playground has been completed.  Stage 2 will be installed in early December 2009.

The below image displays what the project will look like when finally completed with a full budget of c$250,000.

The playground is already taking shape and is proudly becoming the 'Barossa Regional Playground'.

Below is the Update from the NuRCA Chairman dated 25 September highlighting 2009/10 achievements and outlining what is in the wings for this financial year:

 DearCommitted NuRCA Member

AMAZING NURIOOTPA UPDATE

2009/10 MEMBERSHIPRENEWAL

Followingon from our AGM on Monday 7 September 2009, I am proud to announce anothersuccessful year of achievements:

·         Raisingin kind $120,000 to fund half of the expected ‘Barossa Regional Playground’ atTolley Reserve project.  Stage 1 hasalready been completed and stage 2 will be completed by this Christmas.  The remainder of the project will be met byfund raising drives – watch this space!

·         Pollingour membership base after presenting a clear business case, who responded withan overwhelming majority not to develop Coulthard House.

·         EstablishingNuRCA’s first online presence at www.nuriootpa.sa.au

·         Decoratingthe main street with yellow for the 6,000+ amateur and professional riders thatrode through in January for the Tour Down Under.  NuRCA also conducted a best dressed businesscompetition that was won by BGI Industries.

·         Overseeingan extremely successful Barossa Brunch/Nuriootpa Town Day during the BarossaVintage Festival.  Congratulations mustgo to Geraldine Schmidt and her committee for generating so much excitement.

·         Lobbyingboth the Barossa Council, the State Government and Genesse & Wyoming Incabout cleaning up the Nuriootpa Train Station.

·         Overseeingthe main street garden volunteers, who again have done an amazing job inpresenting the town in such a positive light. Congratulations must go to Ken Hodges for co-ordinating the group.

Iwould also at this time like to thank Neale Stephens, who for the last 9 yearshas done an amazing job being the NuRCA Treasurer.  I am not sure how we are going to managewithout him!  Although I am sure thatRobin Warnest will give it a good go with his recent successful election to therole.

2009/10promises to be an equally exciting year. Our big plans will continue with the playground, but we will also gointo talks with the Barossa Council about converting our non-Coulthard Houseoperations into what is called a Section 41 Committee of Council.  Additionally we will also move toincreasingly beautify the main street, especially in relation to some of thevacant shops that we have currently.

Nuriootpahas a lot to be proud of and NuRCA is a committee that is committed to theadvancement of the interests of the people of Nuriootpa, as well as developinga town culture which generates hospitality, service and friendship.

NuRCAneeds your support for the upcoming year and as such you will find a renewalslip in this package.  Please re-commitas we need your financial assistance. You will note that memberships have increased slightly, the first timein a long time.

Iwould also like to thank at this point Helen McArthur (Secretary), Ken Hodges(Vice Chair), Steven Bell & Simon Knispel (playground committee) for theircontributions.

Ifyou would like to contact me about anything NuRCA related please call me on0409 28 4471 or email me on cameron@eldertonwines.com.au
